About Me
Hi! I'm Bardia, a Second-year student at UC Davis, SWE, Homelabber, and Jazz Guitarist based in the Bay Area.
I've been building software for nearly 9 years now, and I'm currently taking a break from school to intern at Apple as a SWE intern on the Internet Technologies & User Privacy, Communication Apps (Messages, FaceTime, Mail, Contacts) Triage team! Back at UC Davis, I'm the Director of Workshops of the AI Student Collective, a member of AggieWorks, a member of the UC Davis Jazz Band, and a member of the Iranian Student Organization!
Feel free to reach out to me on any of my socials!
Experience
Software Engineer Intern @ Apple Inc
March 2025 - Present
- Internet Technologies & User Privacy, Communication Apps (Messages, FaceTime, Mail, Contacts) Triage
 - Selected as a finalist in an internal Apple GenAI hackathon by building an MCP server that automatically scrubs Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from system logs to perform privacy-safe root cause analysis.
 - Developed and launched an extension for Apple’s largest internal tool, achieving rapid adoption with 250+ users within the first two months.
 - Architected a multi-tier intelligent automation system using Agentic LLMs and RAG to process hundreds of weekly bug reports, significantly reducing manual triage time and accelerating issue resolution. Optimized RAG by optimizing embedding generation with Metal Performance Shaders, caching, and unified memory optimization.
 - Engineered a full-stack tool to monitor and analyze build escapes and regressions via a React web dashboard and SQL LLM agent. Adopted by the CommApps, Applied Networking, and Safari/Webkit codebases, improving release stability.
 - Developed key component for the live translation feature shipped in iOS 26, contributing production code to a major user-facing product.

Some Things I’ve Built
Featured Project
GOOP House Submissions System
The GOOP House submissions system is robust system for collecting music submissions from GOOP House members, which are automatically uploaded and sorted in SoundCloud for use in the bi-monthly GOOP Week Events. It has also been used in partnership with Splice for the extremely sucessful GOOP Day Event! It's all hosted on a local data center, and is fully automated with Jenkins and Docker.

Homelab
Built from retired enterprise servers and networking equipment, my homelab serves as a testing and hosting environment for my projects and self-hosted services. Overall my homelab has over 160 cores, 600 GBs of RAM, and 40TB of storage. Utilizing custom routing software, my homelab sits behind an Oracle Cloud VM defined and managed by terraform. Running on my homelab is a full CI/CD stack capable of auto-deploying git to either kubernetes or simple docker containers. It is also hosting a full *arr stack, a code-defined minecraft server network, and various other useful self-hosted services, with everything being tied together by a reverse proxy that manages certificates. I currently have a few clients who host their databases and game servers on my homelab.

Aggie Menus
Aggie Menus is a web and mobile app enabling users to search for meals available across different dining commons at the University of California, Davis, based on their preferences, such as cuisine type, dietary restrictions, dining common location, and more. Aggie Menus scrapes the dining commons' websites for their menus and displays them in a user-friendly interface.

Other Noteworthy Projects
view the archiveOpenPause
A mobile, desktop, and web app for limiting screen time. Users can "pause" their devices by scanning a QR code or tapping any NFC tag. Once "paused", all specified apps will be blocked, and the only way to "unpause" is to scan or tap again. The "pause" state syncs across all devices in real time.
Omi Webapp
Omi Friend is a companion application designed to work with the Omi device, a continuous audio recorder. The Omi device records everything it hears and sends the audio to your phone. This application aims to improve upon the existing Omi app by providing more accurate transcriptions, better speaker detection, and advanced analysis through various plugins.
Sector17
Building a platform allowing users to scale their full-stack apps across heterogeneous nodes or on our own affordable hosting resources on self-managed servers. Integrated an AI assistant to help developers securely deploy applications end-to-end by simply entering their version control URL.
FRP CLI
(WIP) An easy to use, one command tool for frp (https://github.com/fatedier/frp/). The goal is to make it like ngrock, but self hosted.
